Neighbor To Family, Inc is seeking to hire Independent Contractor’s to provides Mental Health Therapy/Counseling services to children and families with involvement in the Child Welfare System. The Mental Health Therapist is responsible for providing high quality client care, displaying professional skills in assessment, diagnosis and treatment, with excellent documentation skills.
This position is an Independent Contractor/Per Diem position. The hours in which services will be provided and the number of hours weekly will vary by case load. A flexible schedule is a must and this position may require evening, weekend and/or holiday work.
This is a PART TIME position. Only local applicants—in/around the Jacksonville Florida area—need apply/will be considered. Compensation is based solely on services provided based on the established Florida Medicaid Fee Schedule.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Conducts screening assessments, and reviews intake and admission information on prospective clients for possible clinical services. Reviews all available assessments and pertinent information from outside agencies, and may also confer with birth parents.
• Provides individual, group and/or family therapy to an assigned caseload of clients in the office, in-home and in the community, as indicated. The MH Counselor will display good theoretical knowledge of mental health issues in children, adolescents, and adults, understand stages of human development and demonstrate competent treatment techniques.
•Conducts ongoing assessment of client’s progress and updates involved parties with changes as needed.
• Prepares and maintains all therapeutic notes, records, reports, and other necessary clinical documentation in a timely manner. All documentation must meet the required standards set by the licensing or accrediting bodies that Neighbor To Family may be involved with, as well as all Federal and State standards and Rules.
• Participates in the design and implementation of individual treatment plans for their caseload, and monitors and records progress in achieving the goals of the individual treatment plan.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: A Masters’ degree in Human Services—Social Work, Counseling or Psychology from an accredited University and two years of clinical experience in child welfare or related human services IS REQUIRED. Only Master’s Degree Level candidates meet requirements and will be considered. Florida Licensed Mental Health/Marriage and Family/Social Worker or Registered Interns are preferred.
