Family Advocate Position
The Family Advocate will serve as a liaison between the foster caregivers, staff, clients, and other resource providers. The Family Advocate provides direction and technical support to foster caregivers in the program. The Family Advocate help identify foster caregivers’ desires, skills, and encourage their development in order for foster parents to successfully maintain placements and work with the population of specialized children referred to the program.
Job Qualifications Required:
H.S. diploma or equivalent required. Six months to one year of related experience and/or training preferred. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Must maintain a valid and current state driver’s license, appropriate insurance, and a reliable car. Must submit to and pass a pre-employment drug test. Must submit to and pass random drug tests during employment. Must successfully pass all background screens as required by the state. Must complete 20 hours of staff development annually.
